LONG ISLAND, NY — Following Thursday’s upset of #2 South Florida, former Sopranos star and Rutgers alum James Gandolfini was arrested for allegedly killing his nextdoor neighbor during the post game celebration. Charles Benz of Long Island suffered two gun shot wounds to the head shortly after the final whistle blew in the Scarlet Knights’ biggest win of the year. Benz, who is a neighbor of Gandolfini’s, was attending a viewing party at the actor’s house when the incident occurred. “I’ve never seen him so happy,” said Gandolfini confidante Allen Cirincione. “This win just got him so amped – he was waving his glock around screaming ‘How you like me now, South Florida?! How you like me now?!’ Benzi was just in the wrong place at the wrong time. James loved that guy like a brother; he just let the win get the best of him.” Gandolfini has hired famed celebrity lawyer Mark Geragos to represent him in the case. Geragos, who made a name for himself representing high profile clients like Winona Ryder, Scott Peterson and Congressman Gary Condit, told SSNN that his client, “is innocent and he looks forward to explaining the truth at the upcoming trial.”
