Local dude who kind of looks like David Cook getting a lot of action these days

ERIE, PA — 26-year-old table waiter and part time actor John Weston has never been all that great with the ladies. But recently, all that has changed.

Weston bears a resemblance to American Idol contestant David Cook, at least inasmuch as the waiter has a beard, likes music, and is a young man.

“I’ve never gotten as much play as I have gotten recently,” Westin said. “Never. Women are just throwing themselves at me. Especially women in the 35- to 45-year-old range. You know, cougars.”

Westin said he has landed at least ten cougars in the past month. “Lot of lawyers, lot of real estate agents,” he said. “Corporate real estate agents, you know the type. A few divorcees. It has been pretty awesome.”

Weston does not watch American Idol, and so he’s not really familiar with David Cook’s physical appearance. However, Lorita Santos, 43, a local catering manager who is divorced with two kids and slept with Weston last Thursday, says the similarities are striking.

“John looks exactly like David Cook,” Santos said. “Well, not exactly, but close enough. I call him my own little Cookie. Get it?”

Weston is not complaining about his recent success with the ladies, but does note that there’s some similarities between all of the women that are unusual.

“Pretty much every woman I’ve been with in the past month has asked me to sing ‘Billie Jean,’ but to sing it real slow,” Weston said. “I am not sure why. Maybe there was an article about it in Cosmo?”
