When Keyshia Cole won the Best Female Solo Artist award, she said, “I want to thank all the ladies that came before me and helped make the business what it is today, like Mary J. Blige and Tweet, and that girl who sings My Neck, My Back. And that’s it, right?”
This is the first time in recorded history, however, that Ashanti herself has forgotten about Ashanti. SCNN caught up with the failed artist after the BET Awards. “It was great,” she gushed. “If I ever get famous I would really take a cue from En Vogue and SWV. Those ladies knew how to do it right. It’d just be so great to finally realize my dream of being a singer.”
