Kathy Griffin Tired of the Gays, Leaving California

WEST HOLLYWOOD, CA – Kathy Griffin, of My Life on the D-List fame, has reportedly grown tired of all the gay people in California, and is hoping to move to a place where there are people with whom she can relate a little better.

“I used to kind of be intrigued about the whole ‘Cali likes gays’ thing, but now I’m just over it,” Griffin said. “I mean, there’s something to be said for gay people having some rights and crap like that, I guess, but also, it’s kind of like, ‘You got marriage, you got West Hollywood, you got all the stuff that you wanted, do you really still have to keep talking?”

Griffin has indicated that she thinks her career is really strong enough to survive without the gay following that has propelled her to her current lack of stardom.

“Can I survive without my gays?” Griffin said. “I’m not sure. I think I can. I do very well with extremely old women, and I do very well with extremely effeminate, sometimes petulant, vain men who like to have sex with other men. So as far as surviving, I think I can do okay if I just keep the interest of those two groups.”

Either way, Griffin said, she’s going to move to some place where she thinks she’ll fit in a little bit better.

“Well, I really like to ski, so I was thinking that Utah would be a pretty cool place for me,” she said. “First off, great skiing. Second, it’s close enough to California and Las Vegas that if I ever get hired again, I can get back. And, finally, not that many gays. And even the gays that they have, they’re like the repressed kind of gays, the people who are really gay but they can’t admit it because they’re afraid that their dad will kill them or send them to hell. Those are my favorite kind of gays, anyway. So I really think I’m going to fit in there. Utah is definitely the place for me.”
