Tatum O’Neal: “I Was Researching a Role”

NEW YORK, NY - Tatum O’Neal released a statement today regarding her recent crack cocaine bust. “I was researching a role,” she asserted. “I’m playing Lindsay Lohan in the Broadway show I Know What Killed My Career, and I needed to really get into the part. While this arrest is completely bogus and all charges should be dropped, this has helped me prepare tremendously for the four or five scenes in which my character is arrested for various offenses.”

O’Neal’s lawyer confirmed that she was in talks to perform in I Know What Killed My Career, but would neither confirm nor deny that she had the role of Lindsay. “I won’t comment on current contract negotiations,” he said, “but it’s clearly plausible; my client and Ms. Lohan look very similar.”
